Guide to Javea

With the Mediterranean sea beautifully embracing Javea with its vast clear water, Javea has retained its beauty for a long time. A lot of credit goes to the local authorities as they have put a limit to the construction that would otherwise come about as part of so called progress. Mount Montgo looks down over the town of Javea, some say watching over the local inhabitants.
Javea attracts a lot of tourists throughout the year, the reason being the picturesque beaches and the marine life in the deep Mediterranean waters.
The Old Town, Port and Arenal beach are the three main regions of Javea. The Old Town as the name suggests, is that part of Javea which was built to keep a watchful eye over the sea, for any signs of an attack. That’s the reason why the Old Town is a little way from the sea shore and uphill for a great view of the bay.
The Arenal beach is the beach which no one misses once they have arrived in Javea. In fact for some people it is the only beach worth calling a beach in the first place because of its constant activities. On the beach people who are interested a bit of fun and adventure can opt for watersports such as pedalos, surfing, fishing and sailing. The restaurants on the beach offer authentic Spanish food, as well as the usual pizzas etc.
The port area also has some good restaurants buzzing with activities and people constantly coming and going. This itself shows that the food is something you should not miss out on. Both traditional as well as fast foods are available in the restaurants. So, if you tire of cooking in your Javea villa rental, there is plenty of restaurants to choose from.
